The new YMCKSc security ribbon, which is initially only compatible with the new Matica high-resolution ID card printer MC660, includes a unique panel of reflective ink that significantly boosts the card's security by adding information (security layout) to the printed card in the form of a "watermark." It is not possible to scan or copy this security picture. As a result, it provides a level-1 security feature with a sophisticated visual authentication method.

The security image on the five-panel YMCKSc ribbon, which can be made from content variable data (graphic and/or alphanumeric characters), provides flexibility and additional protection. During the personalization process, the security image is pulled from a database and integrated into the card.

The card's security is increased and the time and effort required to confirm authenticity are decreased when it is tilted at specific angles such that the reflecting printed security ink is visible to the unaided eye. This is due to its self-sufficiency, which eliminates the need for additional tools like magnifying glasses or UV lamps.

The new ribbon can be used with lamination materials, (continuous films or patch) using clear or holographic for extra visual security elements (VSE).

To ensure optimal performance of your card printer without risk of damage, Matica printers need specifically developed Matica consumables. Use only approved Matica chromXpert ribbons to improve the quality of printed cards and printer longevity. After changing the ribbon on your printer, Matica advises cleaning it.
